Jeff Sterling to present at GMG Perth Forum
We are pleased to announce that Universal Field Robots’ Founder and Managing Director, Jeff Sterling will be speaking at the next Global Mining Guidelines Forum in Perth from 14-15 August. GMG Group, Austmine and METS Ignited are co-hosting the GMG Perth Forum, where discussions on the future of mining and technologies driving productivity in the mining industry will take place.
The GMG Forum will cover critical industry topics, including artificial intelligence, autonomous mining, interoperability, digital transformation, Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and more. The two-day event boasts a full program of presentations, panel discussions, breakout sessions and networking. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn from the trial and error of experts from inside and outside the mining industry, so they can avoid unnecessary pitfalls.
Jeff is looking forward to presenting day two of the forum (Thursday 15th August) at 4.30pm, when he will run through a case study on robotics development. Universal Field Robots has developed an autonomy platform which we integrate into mass produced construction machines making them like factory robots that operate outdoors. The case study will outline our work collaborating with IMDEX Limited to develop and test a robotic system for deploying their sensor technology into log mine blastholes. Universal Field Robots now has 1.7t excavator base robots out on mine sites logging blast holes less than 6 months from project conception.
To find out more about our collaboration with IMDEX, and to hear from sixteen additional subject-matter experts, register for the GMG Perth Forum: https://gmggroup.org/event-directory/gmg-forum-perth/
About Jeff Sterling
Universal Field Robots Founder and Managing Director Jeff Sterling is a mechanical engineer with over 35 years’ experience. Jeff has a proven track record of delivering value gained from his extensive mining and metals industry domain knowledge. He has strong business development expertise, and is highly skilled in projects involving robotics, automation, mechanical engineering, systems and processes.
About Universal Field Robots
Universal Field Robots was founded upon the concept of bringing to market a fully-autonomous robot with industrial-scale capabilities. Jeff wanted to create a robotic product with potential applications across a wide range of industries, that was within a viable price range for all types of consumer. Jeff leads a dedicated team of mechanical, mechatronics and robotics engineers who have developed software to fully enable autonomous control of all their machines’ functions. Utilising advances in robotic physics simulations, the team can digitally prototype the ideal solution before proceeding to real-world testing.
